What Your Body Already Knows

True health is within the intelligence of nature & your own body.

If I had blindly followed the advice of every medical professional/health practitioner up to this point in my life for every health challenge I’ve faced, I would be on an anti-depressant, birth control, and undergone at least two procedures — all of which were completely unnecessary for me and not addressing my whole well-being.

I’m sharing this to highlight the importance of you being your own advocate.  Yes, there are many times professional guidance is needed.  Yes, sometimes procedures, treatment, or something else to support the body may be your choice.

How often is it disregarded though, that true health is within the intelligence of nature and your own body?  How are we taught that this is less “scientific” and can’t be trusted?  How are we taught to put our trust outside of ourselves?

Healing doesn’t come from outside of me, from an institution, religion, a treatment, from a physician… or from essential oils. Yes there’s many things that may participate in my healing, but they’re not the healer. ⁣

So… what do you trust?  Where are you placing trust at the moment? ⁣

“Perhaps the only person, institution, or group that deserves your trust is one that reminds you of what you already know…Don’t abandon yourself in search of healing no matter how much the promise seems to offer you a sense of control. That sense of control will soon transform into dependency on a system that owns the power you gave it.”-Kelly Brogan, MD from her blog article Your Body, Your Choice: Confessions of a Female Doctor”

Is it a common thread in your life to ask questions, look deeper, trust intuition, and be your own advocate?  Are you choosing what’s best for you… not because the main stream says so, not because everyone else is doing it, not because the media says it’s right, and not because the family doctor you’ve consulted with for 10 years believes in it — but because you’re choosing it and YOU believe in it?

The freedom to choose.
