New Moon in Cancer Vibes: Swimming in Wild Waters in New Territory

Wild waters.

Face down.

Haven’t done this years, can’t breathe.

Can’t see the bottom and what just touched my leg?!

It’s been on my mind for years to start swimming in our local lake. But I never felt ready to take action, until now.

It reminds me of what I’ve been learning about navigating the current cosmic tides.  The astrological weather has been described as “new territory,” especially with the beginning of this new lunar cycle – New Moon in Cancer, July 9.

So while there’s many invitations for each of us right now to work with the cycles and seasons around us and within us – one of them especially with this New Moon in Cancer – is to notice ourselves in this new territory and to rediscover what “home” feels like in our body.

So I don’t know what switched on inside me after years of thinking about swimming in our lake and wanting to do it *kind of* but not really being ready for it.

Maybe it’s the influence of all the watery energy in the cosmos, or maybe it’s the summer heat and my Pitta nature wanting to cool down!

Whatever it is – it’s connecting me with nature in a new way this season.

I’m experiencing the “home” of my body differently.

I’m feeling my “home” waters in a new way.

Reminder: the first step is the hardest one, and if you’re on the edge of new territory yourself, maybe this is it?

Like me, you may be feeling like this idea of “new territory and discovering home” is a metaphor for your workouts (and your life) right now.

You’re taking steps into something new.

You can’t see clearly yet and things are a bit “murky.”

It’s super awkward, but you’re doing it and…

It’s doing something for you.

So with that, here’s some things to reflect on:

  • What’s helping you feel at home in your body?
  • Which movements inspire you to feel at home in this season, in nature, or in your environment?
  • What do your workouts look like this season?
  • Is there a certain feeling you’re after?

Seriously, I’d really love to know your thoughts on any of this — so feel free to leave a comment below and tell me if you feel inspired to share!

With you in new territory…

Jenni
